STEM Summer Camp-K-1st grade
Available spots
Service Description
This is our entire S.T.E.M. Summer Camp for K-1st grade. This includes our builders club, math club, robotics club, and coding club classes. Builders Club- we will focus on a different media: legos, gears, dominoes, marble runs, etc. The first half of class will be team build challenges for the different age groups (such as who can build the strongest bridge) and the second half will be individual free build time to creatively experiment with the media being used. Math Club- Each day we will play a variety of math games to learn math facts and skills in a fun and engaging way, while reducing stress for the students. This program is for students who struggle with math, students who love math, and everyone in-between. We adjust the games for each student to decrease frustration and stress, so they can build confidence and help them master facts at their current level first and then grow to new levels of understanding and mastery. Parents will be given some simple games that they can play at home with common items like paper and pencil, a deck of cards, and/or dice. All of these games will also require minimal prep time, if any at all. This way the fun and learning can continue beyond the Math Club. Robotics Club- We will break into small groups according to age/skill level. Each day we will have a different team project and some individual free time as well. The focus will be on problem solving, controlling, and building robots using Vex Robotics sets. Coding Club- We will break into small groups according to age/skill level. Each day we will have a different team coding project and some individual free time to code robots as well.
