Visual Art
We have art classes, a Performing & Visual Arts camp, community art parties, and a visual arts faith club.
The art classes are for Kindergarten through 8th grade. The community art parties are for the entire family, and the visual arts faith club is for high-schoolers & adults.
Art Classes
Fall: St. Martin- Birch Run
Choose from the K-4th grade class or the 5th-8th grade class.
This class is for students who would like to explore different types of visual art such as: drawing, painting, pastels, clay modeling, coloring, calligraphy, and more.
There will be plenty of free time to experiment with the different media and techniques as well as build new friendships.
Performing & Visual Arts Camp
Summer: Bronner Performing Arts Center
This 2-week summer camp is for K-12th grade.
You can choose individual classes or the entire camp.
There is a live performance on the last day of camp.
Visual Arts: New artists and experienced artists alike will enjoy this class as they explore a variety of art forms, styles, and techniques. At the end of the camp they can choose to display their favorite art pieces in the lobby for the live performance audience to view.
Theatre: This 2-week workshop is perfect for new actors or pros! Your student will build confidence, learn new skills, work together as a team and perform a one act play in front of a live audience. Students will have fun learning to memorize lines, build friendships, and learn what it takes to put on a live performance.
Dance: Dancers of all skill levels, experience, and backgrounds are welcome! Students will be introduced to different dance movements and techniques, while learning a choreographed dance. The students will then perform the dance for the live performance.
Improv: Improvisation is a key skill in theatre and life in general. Being able to quickly evaluate and then respond accordingly in any situation is a great skill to master! This class is always a favorite as the students participate in theatre games and other activities designed to build confidence, teamwork, speaking skills, creativity, and acting skills. All while having fun and making new friends. Both experienced and novice actors will benefit from this class.
Choir: This class is for all singing levels, beginning to experienced. The class will work together to learn several songs to be sung at the performance. Different genres will be explored in a fun and engaging way to broaden horizons and help students appreciate the variety of music styles. Students will also learn some tips, tricks, and techniques to help everyone improve their singing voices.
Majestic Movies:
Be part of a short movie. Each participant will be given a role in a movie that will be recorded, edited and then played in front of a live audience. Develop key skills in theatre and general life skills during this class by building your confidence and improving skills in speaking one on one, in front of an audience, and before a camera. All while having fun and making new friends. Both experienced and novice actors will benefit from this class.
Crew:
This program is for students who would like to be a part of our behind-the-scenes crew. The students will work with directors and assist them with props, set pieces, costumes, make-up, scene changes. They will also participate with different actor and director groups during practices to see the entire theatre production process from beginning to end. There will be live performances where our crew will work with staff and directors to help with all of the behind the scene needs for our plays.
Community Art Party
Fall:
Come and enjoy expressing yourself through a variety of art projects.
There will be several stations set up for you to explore different projects and art media.
You can also bring your own projects and enjoy fellowship with other artists and creative people. No artistic abilities required!
This is for all ages, but children under 12 years-old need to be accompanied by an adult.
